Rio Vista Veterinary Hospital was established in 1987 at its current location by Dr. Keith Scudder. The property used had been in the Scudder family for generations. Placed adjacent to the Cohocton River, the name Rio Vista, a Spanish term meaning “river view”, fit appropriately. In those early days, the hospital was surrounded by a rich area of agriculture and was a mainstay for veterinary care for farm animals in the community.
The building has undergone several renovations over the years including three additions. The most recent renovation included transformation of the prior boarding ward into a surgical suite and dedicated dental suite.
After 44 years of services to the community Dr. Scudder elected to retire and Rio Vista was sold to Dr. Stephanie Dodds August 6th, 2016. Throughout the years, Rio Vista Veterinary Hospital has maintained its tradition of providing the best veterinary care possible. We look forward to continuing this tradition with the help of dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled staff.
